A campaign blog for Mike McWherter?
You might be asking yourself why we decided to put a blog together from the staff of Mike McWherter for Governor and it’s really a very simple answer. Over the past few years, we’ve watched blogging grow. We’ve seen the growth of having an online conversation as an important part of the political process. After much discussion, we decided that we wanted to show voters in Tennessee what we see. Not only Mike’s speeches and appearances, but the faces and words of the people across this state who are sharing in his message. We see it first hand everyday, and we wanted you to see it as well.
We live in an exciting time. The political dialog has expanded from the traditional stump speech. As Mike speaks to thousands of people in the coming months as he seeks the governor’s office, we wish to not only expand his message here on Traveling Tennessee by showing you an exclusive behind-the-scenes account of what goes inside a statewide campaign, we want to give you a seat on the front line. There are long nights, fast food on the run, tight schedules and busy weekends, but with all the craziness that goes on in a political campaign, there is also the wonder of knowing that we are all becoming connected. Whether you are meeting our candidate on the road or glimpsing into Mike’s world on this blog, the bottom line is that we are all Tennesseans hoping for the best for this state. Our objective is to validate those voices not only in the Tennessee’s online community, but let you know where we are, where we are going to be and open a conversation with voters.
