From Our EBlast Files

With our kids back in school and the Fall season just around the corner, I am reminded of the fact that the primary election is now less than a year away. Which would explain why we’re continuing to ramp things up at Team McWherter!

Since Jackson Day our campaign has been operating in full throttle, racking up thousand of odometer miles from one end of the state to the other. At our Jackson Day pre-event reception I personally shook hands with hundreds of Democratic leaders, with whom I am now following up with visits back in their respective home counties.

In recent weeks we’ve visited more than 20 communities, touring courthouses, meeting one-on-one with local elected and Party officials, and giving speeches to groups and organizations in all three grand divisions. Meanwhile, back at campaign HQ, our team has just launched the latest addition to our campaign Web arsenal with the new campaign blog on which we will be posting photos and sharing news from the road as it happens. For those of you on Twitter, we also invite you to now follow us at http://twitter.com/votemcwherter.

Throughout the summer months and looking ahead we are also maintaining a concentrated push on the fund raising front, hosting a huge event in Jackson last Tuesday that drew more than 200 people and raised over $150,000. I’ll apologize in advance if you see me on the road and notice that I keep one ear glued to my cell phone. When I’m not shaking hands I am calling a steady stream of prospective donors asking for their support.

I feel great about where things stand in our race.

At the end of the day, campaigns really are all about people, and I’m going to need your help and support to be successful. I hope you visit www.mikemcwherter.com to learn more about my vision for Tennessee, will read our campaign blog, follow me on Facebook & Twitter, and support my campaign with a donation of $5, $10, or $25.

I’ll report back soon, and I look forward seeing you on the campaign trail!
